The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) is making a stop in Cleveland, Ohio next month for tournament poker action that will see a new MSPT champion crowned.

The MSPT Ohio State Poker Championship will take place at Jack Cleveland Casino from May 2-8 and will feature four events and dozens of satellites into the marquee $1,110 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event running May 5-8.

Half-Million Guarantee in Main Event

The MSPT Main Event has a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000 and could surpass that, as the 2020 MSPT Cleveland Poker Open $1,100 Main Event generated $592,670 in prize money to smash the $300,000 guarantee. This year’s event will feature three starting flights, the first of which will kick off on May 5 at 3 p.m. local time.

Day 2 will commence on May 8 at 11 a.m. and will play down to a winner, who will win the lion’s share of the prize pool and the coveted MSPT trophy.

At the last MSPT stop at Jack Cleveland Casino, Michigan’s Patrick Steele topped a field of 611 runners to take home the trophy and $124,461. Ronnie Dowdy finished runner-up for $76,455, while other players who made deep runs include Daniel Swartz (third – $55,711), Daniel Petchnik (fourth – $41,487) and Jeff Mirelli (fifth – $31,412).
